Announce Laser Cutting Operations
Our new laser cutting machine is now fully operational at our new premises in Cradley Heath. The machine has been supplied and installed by a market leader in the laser cutting industry, Amada. It comes with an excellent reputation for both quality of finish and reliability.
The equipment is capable of cutting plate metals up to 20mm using a flying optic system – where the cutting head and its laser beam move over the stationary material with a full range of motion across vertical and horizontal axes.
In addition to the machine being used for our own production needs, we are expanding our service offering to customers to include laser cutting services (cutting to length, creating intricate shapes into plates and engraving thicker material).
The implementation of the laser cutter is the first stage in a major, exciting review of our production techniques. These changes have been facilitated by the acquisition of Unit 1 City Estate in Cradley Heath where we have secured an additional 50,000 sq. ft. capacity. The site is currently undergoing redevelopment of the office space which will house our head office when works are complete. Relocation of the management and admin team is still a couple of months away but the commissioning of the laser cutter marks the start of the site becoming a key manufacturing facility for the company. Furthermore, another two major pieces of machinery are set be installed before the end of April (more on this to follow closer to the time!).
